Larry Lessig

Larry Lessig is the Roy L. Furman Professor of Law and Leadership at Harvard Law School, and director of the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University. Prior to rejoining the Harvard faculty, Lessig was a professor at Stanford Law School, where he founded the school’s Center for Internet and Society. He also co-founded Creative Commons and currently serves on its advisory board. He has received numerous awards, including the Free Software Foundation’s Freedom Award, and has been named one of Scientific American’s Top 50 Visionaries.

Heather Joseph   

Heather Joseph

Heather Joseph has served as the Executive Director of the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) since 2005, where she works to promote open access to the results of scholarly research. She is also the convener of the Alliance for Taxpayer Access, a coalition of universities, libraries, patients advocacy groups, consumer groups, and student organizations who work to ensure that results of publicly funded research are openly accessible to the public. She serves on the Board of Directors of numerous not-for-profit organizations, including the Public Library of Science (PLOS).

John Wilbanks   

John Wilbanks

John Wilbanks works at Sage Bionetworks, where he builds tools and policies that help networks of people who have their health data share it with networks of people who like to analyze health data. He’s worked at Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society, the World Wide Web Consortium, the US House of Representatives, Science Commons and Creative Commons, and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. He was also a co-founder of the Access To Research campaign, which resulted in federal policy requiring public access to scientific research.
