How to get to Open Education Conference 2009?
UBC Robson Square is located in downtown Vancouver on Robson Street between Hornby and Howe Streets.
Accessibility
Elevator access is available on Hornby Street (off of Robson Street) and connects both floors of campus to street and parking levels. There is also a ramp on the Courthouse side of Robson Square to the south that criss-crosses the outdoor stairwell for access to the lower level of the Outdoor Plaza and main entry doors to the campus.
By Car
In Vancouver’s downtown core, turn south on Howe Street, which is a one-way street. Enter Robson Square’s underground parking off of Howe Street at the corner of Nelson Street and follow the signs to UBC Robson Square. Hourly parking charges apply ($3.00/hr weekdays, $13.00 maximum weekday rate, $3.50 evening flat rate and $4.00 all day weekends). Visit the Impark web site for information on payment methods, monthly rates and parking regulations. There is also limited, metered street parking on Howe, Hornby and Georgia Streets.
By Public Transit
All downtown buses stop within blocks of UBC Robson Square, but the closest bus stop can be found just off the corner of Robson and Howe Streets. The Burrard and Granville SkyTrain stations are located within three blocks of the campus. If you are taking the SeaBus from the North Shore you may choose to walk the seven blocks to campus or catch the SkyTrain to Burrard or Granville Stations. By Bicycle
Note: During the construction period, please use the bike rack near the Security Desk at 800 Hornby Street.
By Foot
The main entrance to UBC Robson Square is located on the lower level of the Outdoor Plaza near the ice rink, and remains open during the construction period. Alternate access is available via the elevator/stair entryway on Hornby Street just off Robson Street and off the Upper Outdoor Plaza. See map at the top of this page.
Where are the sessions going to be?
Once you go into Robson Square, please proceed to go downstairs to the Classroom level. The Registration Desk will be in front of Theatre C300. All keynotes will be held in Theatre C300, while concurrent sessions will be held in rooms C180, C150, and C100. Unconference sessions will be facilitated in C130. Please check the Program or the Registration Desk for times.
